Congratulations to Patrick Oliver Fiorilli for being named the newest Alston-Pleasants undergraduate Scholar! Patrick will soon graduate from Roanoke Rapids High School, and at UNC plans to participate in the Honors Carolina Program and major in Physics.

Hon. Richard E. Hunter, Jr., Clerk of the Warren County Superior Court, has reappointed Helen N. Parker, Ph.D., an Alston-Pleasants Scholar, to a three-year term of service as a Trustee of the Alston-Pleasants Post-Graduate Scholars Fund. Professor Dennis Wayne Organ, a UNC-CH undergraduate Alston-Pleasants Scholar from Roanoke Rapids, has
made a significant contribution to the graduate and professional studies Fund.

The 2012 Annual Report has been posted on the Reference page. The report was filed in March 2013 with the three clerks of court in Franklin, Halifax and Warren counties.
The Alston-Pleasants Community mourns the tragic loss of Faith Danielle Hedgepeth of Warren County. Representatives from the Alston-Pleasants Scholars and the Alston-Pleasants Post-Graduate Scholars Fund Trustees plan to attend the funeral service. Faith will also be remembered at the upcoming 2012 Alston-Pleasants Scholars Fall Luncheon on 9/21/12 in Chapel HIll, NC.
Samuel D. Nixon from Roanoke Rapids was recently selected to be the 84th Alston-Pleasants Scholar. Congratulations, Samuel!
